Our Guiding Principles

As an all-volunteer organization grounded in local communities, the North Carolina Jaycees offers the opportunity to find your own path in volunteering and service. We also provide a connection to larger statewide, nationwide, and international impact. The Jaycees offers connection to mentoring, true ownership over work, and connection to something larger than the individual–all things essential to the engagement of young people in volunteering.

Mission Statement

Foster the development of leaders through training, real world experience, community involvement, and the creation of a collaborative network among young adults.

Vision Statement

North Carolina Junior Chamber is to be the premier organization providing opportunities for 18-40 year olds to participate in activities encouraging professional and personal growth resulting in effective leadership that contributes to the local, national and global community.

A Global Network

Jaycees are not only members of their local chapter, but of the North Carolina Jaycees, the United States Junior Chamber, and Junior Chamber International (JCI), a worldwide federation of almost a quarter of a million young leaders and entrepreneurs, located in more than 5,000 communities in over 100 nations throughout the world, participating in projects, meetings, learning programs and events to help create positive change in our world.

The Jaycee Creed

We Believe:
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life.
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations.
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise.
That government should be of laws rather than of men.
That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality.
And that service to humanity is the best work of life!
